Pooja Shukla is a lawyer, Corporate Governance Professional (CGP), and Chartered Secretary who teaches law and corporate governance at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. She holds professional memberships across three jurisdictions — the Chartered Governance Institute (United Kingdom), HKCGI (Hong Kong), and ICSI (India) — and is a Fellow of the Institute (FCG, HKFCG).
Her academic qualifications include an LLB, a Master of Commerce, and a Bachelor of Commerce with honours in Finance, together with a postgraduate diploma in Journalism. She placed 17th in the All−India ICSI rankings and was awarded merit in corporate governance by HKCGI.
Before joining academia, Prof. Shukla spent over a decade in senior corporate roles, including Vice President positions at an American bank and at mining companies. She has served as Board Secretary to boards and committees of listed companies, banks, and multinationals operating in manufacturing, information technology, mining, infrastructure, professional services, law, and telecommunications. She has also advised FTSE 100 companies on corporate governance matters across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
She speaks regularly on governance topics, including data and AI governance.
